As humans, we all at some point must both make our own mark within the shadow of a significant parental figure, and learn to individuate ourselves from that figure. This was a thought provoking work.

  • Amazing written work about Sen. Obama's life

This books is so well written and compelling- and it was done BEFORE he was a US Senator, while he was the Editor of the Harvard Law Review.

This is a truly insightful book into the life and experiences of Sen. Barack Obama. Anyone and everyone- Democrat or Republican; Black, White, Hispanic, etc.; EVERYONE should read this book.

It is an amazing story, and truly insightful into the mind of a very intelligent and intriguing multi-racial individual. It helped me not only understand who Sen. Obama is...but it helped me to better understand myself, and find a way to relate to him and his life through my own life experiences as a multi-racial individual.

While I find Obama to be quite eloquent when speaking, the book was edited in a bad way. Although I understand the principle of what he was attempting to communicate, I feel the "PC" police pixied the spirit out of what should have been a good book. Yeah for the editors *sarcasm*.
