    • My Thoughts
    • I didn't love the ending of this book, but the book was so hard to put down, to know that the adventure would end. My favorite character will always be Snape!

I can't get over how bad this book was. The worst possible ending to a series that started with so much promise. The character development stopped right around 4th year and this book was just an ugly rehash of all the problems they had been going through in the last few books. Plus it's plot was driven along by things that a 2nd grader would have come up with. And worst of all, she creates this whole wonderful land and cast of characters, and then in the last book ignores them all to let 3 whiny teens wander through the woods for months. Really just terrible and one of the biggest let downs ever.

    • I love this series. Rowling does such a fine job of creating characters you can really care about. I'm actually going to miss these guys now that the series is done.

    • Not my favorite in the series
    • but pretty good. It's dark, of course...plenty of death, which makes it sad. I will say that the very end was so predictably cheesy. Of course so-and-so and so-and-so-had to get married and have kids with the names that they had, but anyway...

What a way to end a seven-part tale! I think J.K. Rowling ended the Harry Potter series with a bang when "Deathly Hallows" was released. So much sadness and suffering, yet so much cheerfulness and friendship. Trust and lack of trust. However, I really took it in when she emphasized (particularly when Dumbledore would speak to Harry) the importance of love. The love Snape had for Lily. The love Voldy lacked and never understood, which was responsible for his downfall. However, the love that Dumbledore had, which J.K. Rowling said was his greatest tragedy. Harry, Ron and Hermione's journey was something! Yet, there's still more references the author provided, particularly of the "Iliad" by Homer, in "Deathly Hallows."

    • I was very happy that Rowling finished things off with a great book. The last few books had me a little worried. Great book.
