you know, there're so many good movies in this beautiful world, they gave people dreams and happy hours.
but, there're also many stupid movies, always prepare to make people feel bad...
so, would you please just tell us which is the most stupid one you have ever seen before, and why,
then, you could save other people...

Two of the worst movies I am embarrassed to even admit to seeing are "Sasquatch" and "Blood Thirst": we rented and watched them expecting them to be funny-bad, but they are both unwatchable. They should not even have made it onto store shelves.

"Constantine" by Francis Lawrence. Really nonsense!

Usually most of the experimental films are nonsense and thus successfully leading me to be dozy. But fortunately most of them are easily identified before you get into the cinema. Recently, however, a Hong Kong film named as "Ming Ming"(明明) evaded my identifcation and appeared to be a commercial film, or a hybrid of commerical/artistic/experimental film at least. Actually that is a badly finished experimental film!! It just like an experimental formula of bad shampoo, causing great suffering of my eyes T_T

Mary Antoinette by Soffia Coppola, I would have to say.
Although I personally love Kirsten Dunst and Coppola, I actually dozed off while I was watching it.

Basic Instinct.
I would give it one "star" out of 4 though, to give credit to the unreserved and super-devoted effort demonstrated by Sharon Stone & Michael Douglas.

The Italian Job. Unfortunately, because I really love Edward Norton, but this is the worst film ever (and I HATE Mark Whalberg!).

Korea movie.
I see many stupid movie from Korea.
but some is good.

Meet Joe Black - It's very long and boring. Wasted my time.

Without any doubt "Breakfast at Tiffany's". The most inutile movie i have ever seen. The script is simply ridicoluos!!! And the book is worst!!!

I'd have to say Signs. Aliens that die upon contact with water? What the hell? Why would they invade Earth (which is full of water) in the first place? People who don't swear after the movie must have slept through it.

Calvaire. It's just... absolutely horrible, with the weird knock off Deliverance vibe, and the dancing and the what-not. I really wanted to die while I watched it. Or at the very least scratch out my retinas. It was without a doubt the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. Followed closely by the remake of the Wicker Man... Yuck!

War of The Worlds, it was just as bad as Signs. The most important direct nowadays as Steven Spielberg can really surprise you sometime.

What about trash-declared Scary movies? They are really disgusting.

"The Village", expecting to watch a horror movie with monster/haunted ghost in a village but ended up seeing an old man pretending the monster in a ridiculous Halloween outfit that u have no idea on why ppl would be scared by that.

Too many, but your choice of "Signs" and "Village" reminded me of yet another one by Night Shyamalan--"Lady in the Water", probably the most stupid movie I've seen in the last two years.

Personally I liked The Legend of 1900. Lately the stupidest movie I've seen is "Blood and Chocolate". It's done by the same people who put out the Underworld films. Maybe it's ok if you haven't read the book, but if you have the movie will make you want to slap someone very hard for ever making this piece of crap.

The most recent scarred memory would be "Evan Almighty". Terrible. Expensive to produce and with horribly scripted dialogue that isn't at all funny.

Must be "Borat - Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan" --- disgusting, racist and stupid!!!!! Come on, washing face in a toilet bowl? I mean, what's the point of making fun of another culture?

Absolute waste of time and money. I could not even finish the whole movie. Really disgusting!!!!

hi everyone! I read the discussion... I think taht The forgotten, War of the worlds, Stardust, MonaLisa smile, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and above all Meet Joe Black are all very good films!
The most stupid film I have ever seen is surely Borat.

"Dogma" was a Catholic's attempt to poke fun at the Catholic Church. There are a lot of in-jokes, etc. that would only make sense to a Catholic or someone really familiar with that denomination.

well, since "The Golden Compass" was adapted from the book, anything that's wrong with the plot really isn't the fault of the movie... that said, may I ask what's wrong with it? :)

I haven't read the serious of books.
So I just wrote the ranking according to what I have seen in this movie.

When I watched this movie, each scenes were arranged in few seconds with suspicious development. I couldn't figure out why the army composed by gypsies, pirates or anything else appeared so accidently in the crucial moment and fought the enemy. Or why the woman stared by Nicole Kidman needed to hit her monkey (spirits?elf?),etc.
The movie is really hard for audiences to realize what happened after watched it.
I thought every movie should show their independence (especially when it has the continuation), they shouldn’t last a lot of foreshadows to audience and expect we to find the answer by ourselves from the origin book.

Hm, I agree that the gypsies showing up was a little deus ex machina, but I'd say that your second question was already answered at the beginning of the movie, when it was talking about daemons and their relationship with humans.

I know, it's just a movie and it shouldn't require so much attention, but I think that's a problem quite common to movies adapted from books.

I mean, I'm pretty sure the Harry Potter movies really don't make as much sense to the people who haven't read the HP books... Not every movie adapted from a book can be as independent as Peter Jackson's LOTR trilogy.
