Delicious, like most things Bryson wrote. Well balanced between humour and reflection, between autobiography and history, it is a nice read for hikers, former hikers, wannabe hikers and people who never hiked and never will.

My advice: read "Neither Here Nor There" before this. You'll then be able to appreciate the reunion of Katz and Bryson twenty years after their split-up in Europe.
