Voto e commento riguardano l'intera trilogia.

i liked it quite a lot. it might look like a usual setting (the boy nobody wants raises to be most important for the kingdom and with added magical skills inherited from his bloodline though he's a bastard) but the story catches you and keeps you on the pages.
history of the reign is presented, and politics and court intrigues... all is well written of and coherent.

i think what i like the best is that it is a story well told.
...ContinuaAssassin's apprentice is a quite enjoyable reading. It is an ordinary fantasy book and it gives you ordinary emotions.
Fitz is the bastard son of the king-in-waiting, who decides to abdicate when he discovers Fitz's existence. He is raised at court as the king's assassin, but he has to face some dangers and mistreatments because of court political intrigues and jealousies.
He has got hidden powers (the Wit and the Skill) that give him some advantage in his training and in the performing of his duties as an assassin.
In truth, there is nothing more than this.
In the editorial review from Booklist you can read the following sentence:
"This may not be the indispensable fantasy debut of the year, but it will find readers if offered to them."
That's perfectly true.
You can read and enjoy this book, but be aware it is not another WheelOfTime or SongOfIceAndFire!
...ContinuaThis book is highly respected on many fantasy web-sites. It deserves the praise it gets due to great characterization and a deep storyline. I don't necessarily prefer stories with a first person point of view but will make an exception here. Hobb writes an intriguing story that is thoroughly enjoyable.
