Faithless is a novel based around small towns. The plot was captivating - victims buried alive with a pipe connecting the coffin to the outside to ensure the victims remain alive and aware of what is happening to them. Unfortunately, Karin Slaughter has a grating way of narrating the story - she favours a lot of dialogue and a lot of useless details that can be quite frustrating to read when all i want is for the story to progress. I do not think these details add depth to the story so they are more of a hindrance. I would not write off Karin Slaughter's books, but i would not be anticipating her new-releases either. These are the sort of books that you probably buy on impulse and when you have a lot of time on your hands to read (after getting through novels by your other favourite authors first).
